As you will have seen from the Annual Report, the Club’s finances, although better than 12 months ago, are still not in great shape.

 

In addition there is still a need to carry out some projects to improve the Club’s facilities over the next few months. These projects have had to go onto the back burner over the past 24 months in view of the club’s financial position and for more pressing projects to be completed.

 

Now that we have restored our cost structure to a more sustainable level, we are continuing to look at ways where we can improve our revenue streams. Our budget for the coming year provides for a significant increase in our cash reserves but this is dependent on the strength of our support from our wider community. We cannot rely on our grants from Auckland Cricket and players subscriptions to fund all our requirements.

 

I am appealing to you again therefore to show your support through our Members Sponsorship Scheme. This year we have five opportunities for non-playing member support – PLATINUM $1000 or over, Gold $500, Silver $250, Bronze $100 and Social $30.

 

The liquor licensing authorities continue to impose stringent conditions on clubs which means that only members and their guests can drink on club premises and the club must be able to demonstrate that members are genuine Club members. We are therefore continuing with our new membership database to record all non-playing members. You can all help in this by registering on-line as a member. It is easy. Just go to www.northshorecricket.co.nz and click on to the registrations link. In the non-playing section you will see the various options. Just choose. You can pay on-line by credit card; alternatively the system will automatically send you a bill or you can send a cheque into the club at PO Box 32-423, Devonport, Auckland, 0744.

 

We value your continuing support for the Club. The club is just two seasons away from celebrating 150 years as developing cricketers on the Devonport peninsula and we want the club to be in a strong position for those celebrations.
